Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim.  In the name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.  Al-salam 'alaykum.  My love you, my dearest brothers and sisters.

11.  We Can Only Truly Be In Love On The "Inside" of Us

We can only truly be in love,
when we are sitting on God's lap
as Bawa Muhaiyaddeen
(may God be pleased with Him)
teaches all of us, all of His Children,
"what we do not know".

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

This is why Louie and Rumi can only be truly in love on the "inside" of us, never on the "outside" of us, when we are sitting on God's lap as Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him) teaches all of us, all of His Children, "what we do not know".

But on the "outside" of us, where we continue to live a life of separation and differences, a life of selfishness, a self centered life, separate from God, separate from each other, and separate from the Creation of God, Louie and Rumi can only truly be at war, my mind and desire against your mind and desire.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

And the same is true for all of our brothers and sisters at the Fellowship.  On the outside we are always in danger of being eaten or eating, one or the other, but on the "inside" we can be in love, we can sit on the lap of God and listen to Bawa teach us "what we do not know".

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

So stop trying to be with your brothers and sisters on the outside. Give them up on the "outside", as this child has tried to do, and continues to try to do.  Try to give them up on the "outside" by finding them on the "inside".

And we do this by taking them on as our own life on the "inside" of us, as "who we are" on the "inside" of us, as "who we are" when we sit on God's lap as Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him) teaches us "what we do not know".

That is why we are finding these Spiritual Chats so important and helpful on the path.  During them we are meeting each other "inside" on God's lab and when we meet in that way Bawa is better able to teach all of us "what we do not know", not just you and I, because in truth on the "inside" of us their is only One.

So in this way we must try to always be with our brothers and sister on the "inside" of us, not just on the "outside" of us, as is usually the case, always trying to treat them and think about them as our own life, not as separate from us, and always handing them, when we see them or think about them on the "outside" of us, to God on the "inside" of us, with the realization, as His Holiness teaches us, that,

"What separates us from God is what separates us from each other,
and what separates us from each other is what separates us from God.

And with the intention, as His Holiness teaches us, that God,

"Separate from us all that is separating us from God."

Rumismith:

Yes I do understand. Yes this is true with everybody. My mind and desire against everybody else's mind and desire.

12.  The Gift of Understanding

The gift of understanding
is the contrast of our "outside" and our "inside",
is the contrast of the qualities of our outer selves
and the qualities of our inner selves,
is the contrast between our fate and our wisdom,
is the contrast between "us" as "separate from" God,
and Bawa Muhaiyaddeen
(may God be pleased with Him),
which in truth is "us" as "one with" God.

What a disaster. In sha Allah, that is why we need Bawa's love. I am sitting here listening to Bawa on the inside, knowing He is there, but nothing comes.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

No - everything is coming, because it is always, always coming.  We just need to sift it out, and put the left with the left and the right with the right.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

And it is not a disaster, it is a blessing, a gift from God, this outside and inside of us, because without it there would be no understanding.

Rumismith: True.

13.  Why We Don't Hear Bawa On The Inside of Us - is because we are living on
          the "outside" of us

We don't hear Bawa "inside" of us
because we are trying to use ourselves
to differentiate the "outside" of us
into the good and the bad of the world,
or the good and bad of ourselves,
rather than using our wisdom,
rather than using Bawa Muhaiyaddeen
(may God be pleased with Him) within us,
to differentiate between the "inside" and the "outside" of us,
between what within us is "separate from" God,
and what within us is "one with" God,
which in truth is the good and the bad of us.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

It is because you still think of the world as good and bad that you don't hear Bawa on the inside.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

The world is not good and bad, the world is just the world.  It is what it is.  It is just the life of separation and differences that is seen in our ignorance as existing "outside" of us.

It is the life of "separation from" God that we are currently experiencing as "who we are", as "where we are", and as "what is happening" in our life, as contrasted from the life of "oneness with" God, that we have yet to experience, which is the life of God within us, the life of the soul joined with wisdom within us, the life of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him) within us, which we can only experience by giving up the life we are currently experiencing.

The world and us living in the world is just what is on the outside of us, is just what we see and experience in our ignorance.  It is just what is separating us from God, it is just what has grown between our soul and the light of God within us, it is just what has crucified our soul on the cross of our elemental body, so it can sin, so it can live a life that is the opposite of wisdom, and truth.

And in this way, by being what is separating our soul from God, it is the bad of us, it is the opposite of us, it is the contrast to the light of our soul and to the light of God within us, but it is also what, by providing a contrast to wisdom and truth, allows the understanding of our soul to occur within us, because understanding only occurs through contrast.

And in this way, this outside of us, this life of "separate from" God that has grown within us, it is not really even bad.  It is like the plant that grows from the seed, providing the vehicle for the growth of the seed within the plant, the seeds or the fruits of the crop which are revealed in multitude when the farmer harvests the plant and extracts from it the many seeds or fruits that have grown from the one seed, like the one wheat seed growing many wheat seeds within one wheat plant or the apple seed growing many apples from one apple tree.

In this way, the "outside" of us is what is discarded by the farmer during the harvest of the crop of us, the harvest of the plant of us, revealing the fruit of us, or revealing the multitude of the seeds of us, which collectively can be called the "inside" of us.

14.  Who Within Us Is Good, And Who Within Us Is Love

God harvests Good out of bad,
the True Crop from the false crop,
the True Man out of the false man,
while True Man harvests God out of the Good.
In this way,
only True Man is Good, and only God is God, is Love.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:  And God is not good.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:  Do you understand?  God is not good.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:  Do you understand why God is not good?

Rumismith:

Yes.  God is much more than good.  But no, I dont understand. Please explain.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Yes my sweet sister Rumi.  Yes my dearest loving sister of my heart.  Yes, yes, yes.  "God is much more than good".  Wonderful.  That is wisdom speaking within you.  Only wisdom would say that.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Good is the contrast to bad, as light is the contrast to darkness, and both of them are the vehicle of understanding, both of them provide the school of contrast where we have come from God to learn about "who we already are".

But in truth God has no Good because God has no contrast.  God is beyond Good.  God has transcended Good in becoming God.  It is True Man who is Good, not God, because True Man has a contrast which is false man or bad.
MuhaiyaddeenLB:

What we see "outside" of us is the darkness of the contrast, the bad of the contrast, the evil of the contrast, and as such there is no good and bad in the world that we see as existing "outside" of us.

There is just the world of illusion within us that we see as existing "outside" of us, as the world "outside" of us, which provides the contrast to the good, the true, and the light within us, to the world "inside" of us, to the world within us that we see in truth through our wisdom as good, and true, the contrast that allows us to understand and learn about "who we already are".

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

As there is no good and bad in the world "inside" of us, it is just the contrast to the world "outside" of us, it is just the good, the true, and the light within us that provides the contrast to the bad, the false, and the darkness within us, to the world that we see as existing "outside" of us, providing the contrast that allows us to understand and learn about "who we already are".

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

God created the world "inside" of us and the world "outside" of us.  One is the sifat or the manifestation of the Creation of God and the other is the sirr or the secret of the Creation of God, the secret Creation of God which is personally hidden by God within the sifat or the manifestation of the Creation of God, just waiting for True Man to reveal it.

And the world "inside" of us is really "inside" of the world "outside" of us, like the wheat seed is within the wheat plant, or the apple fruit is within the apple tree.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

And God is like the farmer who planted the wheat seed that germinated and revealed the wheat plant, or planted the apple seed that germinated and revealed the apple tree, and who must now harvest the wheat plant, or the apples, producing again the wheat seed, but from 1 wheat seed comes a whole basked of wheat seeds, and from one apple seed comes many apples, and within each apple many apple seeds.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

So the world "inside" of us can only be revealed when God harvests us, when God harvests the plant of us, or the tree of us, which in this analogy is the world of us that has grown "outside" of us.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

But God can only harvest us, and reveal the world "inside" of us, when we are done with the world "outside" of us, when we are done with the plant of us, or the tree of us, that has grown out of the seed of True Man planted by God within each of us.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

So God is not good because, as you say, "God is beyond good".  It is True Man who is Good, when God harvest True Man out of false man, out of the plant of us, producing a multitude of seeds, producing the seeds of God's grace that True Man must then plant within His clear heart, which then become akhirah within us, which then become the kingdom of God, the 8th heaven or firdaus of God within us.

This is why His Holiness teaches us that,

"God creates the 7 heavens and the 7 hells for us, but it is Muhammad (may the
peace and blessings of God be upon Him) not God who builds and then enters
the 8th heaven or firdaus within us, which is the kingdom of God within us"

In this way, it is True Man within us, who is revealed by God within us, revealed by God in oneness with our Shaikh within us, who then builds the qalb or innermost heart within us, which is the 8th heaven or firdaus within us, through His purified qualities and actions within us, through His love and devotion to God within us, through His oneness with God within us, if we but accept our Shaikh in that capacity, and join with Him in this work, by handing him all that we are.

And for this age, our Father, our Shaikh, and our Guru, this Triple Flame of God within us, within all of the Children of God for this age, which is all of the Children of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Us) within us, is our Father, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him).

For this age there is no other way for it to be done, for this 8th heaven to be built within us.  We must realize this without the slightest doubt, and act accordingly.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

In this way, God reveals True Man within the Creation of God within us, within the dunya within us, allowing True Man to grow the crop of True Man within the clear heart of True Man within us, which is akhirah within us, which is the Kingdom of God within us, and then harvest God out of the crop of True Man, out of akhirah, out of Good.

And in this way True Man harvests God within us out of the Good within us, out of the oneness and unity of the Creation of True Man within us, as God harvests the Good within us out of the bad within us, out of the Creation of God within us, out of the separation and differences of the Creation of God within us.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

In this way, God harvests Good out of bad, the True Crop from the false crop, True Man out of false man, and then True Man harvests God out of Good.

In this way, only True Man is Good, and only God is Love, only God is God, which is the oneness of True Man and God, which is love.

MuhaiyaddeenLB: Al-hamdu lillah.  Allahu Akbar.

MuhaiyaddeenLB: Enough?

15.  We Benefit According To The Clarity of Our Heart, The Clarity of Our
Wisdom, And The Purity of Our Qualities

Our benefit, profit, and peace is in our hand, not God's hand,
because God has placed them in our hand.
We have it all, both God and what separates us from God,
and the choice is ours, not God's,
God has already made His choice and He chose oneness with us,
now we must chose either oneness or separation from God,
for the justice of God is that whatever we intend is what we receive,
and the house we build is the house we get.

Rumismith: Beautiful.

As I am sitting here I looked at a quote from Bawa, in the Fellowship calendar for March 2002, and He says,

"We will obtain the benefit in proportion to the clarity of our hearts.
We profit according to the clarity of our wisdom.
We gain peace in proportion to (the purity of) our qualities".

16.  About Sharing Our Chats With Our Brothers And Sisters

Our private heaven in truth is God's public hell,
so we must get rid of all our private things,
of all our personal things that maintain our separation from God,
our separation from each other, and from the Creation of God,
and become as His Holiness teaches us, "God's Common Wealth",
and then as His Holiness teaches us on page 11
in the beautiful book called  "The Pearl of Wisdom",
"spread the Guru's words with delightful heart,
unfurl the flag of the Guru's words everywhere,
then the fate that accompanies us shall turn into dust."

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

My love you my sweet sister Rumi.  You are a very good Child of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him).

May we send this chat to our brothers and sisters on the "inside", who are still living on the "outside"?  Please.

Rumismith:

Whatever you know is right. I have no attachment either way.

MuhaiyaddeenLB: Ok.

MuhaiyaddeenLB: Enough?

17. Bawa Has To Do The Work of Germinating And Harvesting Us

We must come to realize, buried in our self made hell,
like the apple seed buried in the earth,
that it is time to germinate and reveal the apple tree,
and like the apple tree laden with fruit,
that it is time to harvest the crop,
and call out to our Messenger of God,
which for this age is our Father,
Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen
(may God be pleased with Him)
to reveal True Man within the false man within us,
so True man within us can do the work
of harvesting God out of True Man.

Rumismith:

Bawa is breaking Rumi down and I am so thankful for it. What is the use of holding onto all this unnecessary emotional stuff.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

It is of great value, my sweet sister.  Again, don't make the mistake of trying to divide the world into good and bad, or Rumi into emotional and un-emotional stuff.

Rumismith:

Maybe we should say, separate the left from the right.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Remember Bawa teaches us,

"Nothing will ever leave you until it is understood, because that is the purpose
of it being there in the first place, understanding."

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

But that is not your work.  Your work is to hand it to Bawa, and His work is to separate it.  Don't try to separate it before you hand it to him, then you are keeping "you" alive, then you are keeping "you" alive as "separate from" Bawa.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Instead, come to know the work that needs to be done within you, come to know the separation work that needs to occur within you, this separation of the "inside" from the "outside", of the Good from the bad, of True Man from false man, but depend on Him to do this separation work, not you, because only He can do it, only you as "one with" Him can do it, not "you" as "separate from" Him.

Depend on Him to harvest you from "you", to harvest you as "one with" God from you as "separate from" God, to harvest True Man from false man, to harvest the Good from the bad, to harvest True Man from the Creation of God, from the dunya, which is the opposite of Good, to harvest the "Oneness of God and His Creation" from His Creation, from the "separation and differences" of His Creation, from the dunya, to harvest True Man from the dunya, to harvest Good from the dunya, from the opposite of Good.

So True Man within you can harvest God from the Creation of True Man, so True Man can harvest the "Oneness of True Man and His Creation" from the Creation of True Man, from akhirah, which is Good, which is the opposite of bad, which is the Sirr or Secret hidden within the Creation of God, hidden within the dunya, so True Man can harvest God from akhirah, from the Good, from the Sirr, so True Man can harvest God from the Good, which is God as the Dhat of God, God as the essence of God's grace.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Realize that the mind wants you to keep some of this Divine work for yourself, because then it is still in charge of you, and can play games with you through this thought of "you", as "separate from" God, doing the Divine work of God.

18.  We Must Become Alone, Hungry, And Awake

We must become keenly aware
of what Bawa Is secretly doing within us,
always watching Him intently within us,
always ready to immediately hand Him
what He needs of "us" to complete His work.

MuhaiyaddeenLB: Become alone, hungry, and awake.

Rumismith:

Yes, I understand that. He is doing this separation work and I am aware of it and I am so grateful for it. I guess this is what I meant to say. That awareness of watching what he is doing, what a wonder.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Yes - become the watcher, not the doer.  Hand and watch.  Hand and watch.

a.  To be Alone - only God is there, with you and God as One, not you and God
                                        as separate.
b. To be Hungry - the soul is being nourished, nourishing you as "one with" God,
not providing nourishment to you as "separate from" God.
c.  To be Awake - the world of illusion loses its pull on you, and the Power of God
is pulling you deeper and deeper into Itself, allowing you again
                                        to become One with God.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

My love you my sweet sister Rumi, you are a blessings from God for this child.  You are my sister of the heart.

Rumismith:

In sha Allah. May that happen to all of us. That is our true life, our birthright, our true heritage.

MuhaiyaddeenLB: Al-hamdu lillah.  Allahu Akbar.

MuhaiyaddeenLB: When is my ride coming?

MuhaiyaddeenLB: Time for a short story?

Rumismith:

Tonight would have been a good night.  Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I work all day, and I would like to be here when you come, so we will see.

19.  An Example of a "Bawa - Bawa Muhaiyaddeen" Conversation

Like "Manaiyal", the wife of the earth sign,
the best among the four types of wives,
as describe by His Holiness on pages 12 -15,
in the book, "The Pearl of Wisdom",
we must "accept the Guru and His grace as Divine,
and place our body, wealth, and life
as a slave at the feet of our husband,
conscious of our three duties,
of noble deeds, wealth, and offer of bliss."

Rumismith: Yes please for a short story.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Short Story 2:

One day Louie was in the room with Bawa.  Only Bawa, Louie, and our sister Shams was in the room at that time.  And Bawa said to Louie, "Lou Tambi - speak some wisdom".

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

So Louie in his heart said to Bawa on the "inside", "Bawa - speak some wisdom".
And as Bawa on the "outside" waited for Louie on the "outside" to speak some wisdom, Louie on the "inside" waited for Bawa on the "inside" to speak some wisdom.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

So Bawa patiently waited on the "outside" for Louie and Louie patiently waited for Bawa on the "inside", and Shams stood there on the "outside" waiting for Louie on
the "outside" to say something so she could translate it to Bawa on the "outside".

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

This situation continued for a while, and Bawa on the "outside" look at Louie on the "outside" and gestured for him to speak, and Louie on the "inside" looked at Bawa on the "inside" and gestured for Him to speak.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Finally, Bawa on the "inside" of Louie told Bawa on the "outside" of Louie the following story.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

At the time of the Prophet of God, Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of God be upon Him) the disciples of the Prophet asked the Prophet of God a question.

They said,

"O Prophet of God, do you love us?"

And the Prophet of God said to His disciple,

"Yes - I love each of you very much."

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Then the disciples asked the Prophet of God a second question, a question that did not make much sense for them to ask but made a lot of sense for us to hear the answer.

They asked the Prophet of God,

"O Prophet of God, will there ever be anyone who you will love more than us?"

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

And the Prophet of God answered saying, "Yes".

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

The disciples were very surprised at this answer, and immediately asked the Prophet of God,

"O Prophet of God, who is it that you will love more than us?"

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

And the Prophet of God said,

"Those who come after you, who have never  physically met Me, as each of
you have met Me, but love Me as much as each of you now love Me, I will love
them even more than I love each of you."

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Bawa smiled at Louie on the "outside" and on the "inside", and said to Louie on the "outside",

"There is a great secret in that story, which I will explain to you at another time."

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

And Louie on the "outside" patiently waited for Bawa on the "outside" to explain the secret within that story, but Bawa on the "outside" never did, but Bawa on the "inside" has been explaining the secret meaning of that story to Louie on the "inside" for the last 16 years.

20.  The Principle Tenet of Islam Is "Tawhid"

We must come to clearly understand
the principle tenet of Islam, which is "Tawhid",
the affirmation of the Unity of Allah,
and dedicate our body, wealth, and life
to the live and teaching of God for this age,
this age of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen
(may God be pleased with Him)
to the life and teaching of our Father,
Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen
(may God be pleased with Him).

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

And the meaning that Louie on the "inside" has been sharing with Louie on the "outside" is the following:

The principle tenet of Islam is "tawhid", the affirmation of the unity of Allah, that man, True Man, and God are One, as an apple seed, the apple tree, and the apple are One, and only when we learn to leave the "outside" of us and travel "inside" of us as True Man can God truly love us, only when we learn to love Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him) "inside" of us can Bawa Muhaiyaddeen truly love us.

MuhaiyaddeenLB: Al-hamdu lillah.  Allahu Akbar.

Rumismith: Al-hamdu lillah. What a deep sharing.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

So our prayer must be the Father's Prayer that we have shared many, many times.

"Oh my Father, my Shaikh, my Guru, we need your love.  Please, Please,
Please destroy us and reveal You."

"Destroy us as separate from You and You as separate from us, and reveal us
as One with You and You as One with us."

"Destroy the life of separation and differences that you have given us, and reveal
the life of oneness and unity, of justice and truth, of compassion and unity that
          you have also given us."

Amen, Amen, Ya Rabil Alameen.  Amen, Amen, Ya Rahman Alameen.  Amen, Amen, Ya Rahim Alameen.  Al-hamdu lillah.  Allahu Akbar.

MuhaiyaddeenLB: Enough?

Rumismith:

Yes, that prayer resonates within my heart. What an ending for our dialogue. Allahu Akbar. Al hamdu lillah. Yes enough. My heart is full.

Much love to you, Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Closing Prayer:

May all the peace and blessings of God be upon all of us.  May God grant us His grace and open our hearts to Him.  Amen.

My love you (anbu) - Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen (Louie Beutler)

Rumismith: My love to you, Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen. Anbu.
